Character Experience

Bai Tu is a Qin Dynasty general, cunning and treacherous, skilled in flattery, and oppresses the people by virtue of his high position and power. He habitually uses his position to extort money from the common people under the guise of official duties.

Bai Tu leads his subordinates, including Commandant Zhongli Mei, on patrol in Dongjun.

Xiaoyaozi, the leader of the Taoist Human Sect, and Gao Jianli, the leader of the Mo Family, find a small shop in Dongjun to rest. They are suddenly encountered by soldiers led by Bai Tu. Bai Tu orders Zhongli Mei to investigate the situation, while he robs the people under the pretext of searching for suspects. Bai Tu sees that Xiaoyaozi and Gao Jianli are dressed unusually and tries to seize their wealth. At the critical moment, Han Xin bribes Bai Tu with a golden leaf, thus resolving the crisis.

As Bai Tu is about to leave, he sees a sedan procession approaching with great fanfare. Bai Tu stops the procession and learns that the person in the sedan is Hua Ying, a famous dancer from the Dream Pavilion. He is shocked and tries to make things difficult under the guise of investigation. However, Hua Ying takes out the Upper General’s token, which terrifies the bully Bai Tu, and he immediately lets them pass, praying that Hua Ying will not speak ill of him to the Upper General. Bai Tu turns back to the small shop and finds that Xiaoyaozi and Gao Jianli have disappeared.

Bai Tu orders his subordinates to execute all the people living around the “Stone of the Round Rock” according to the emperor’s orders. Zhongli Mei disobeys the military order and tries to dissuade him at the risk of his life. Bai Tu wants to kill him to vent his anger, but the deputy general reminds Bai Tu that Zhongli Mei is a talented person appreciated by the empire’s Upper General. Bai Tu finally spares Zhongli Mei’s life but imprisons him and allows Qin soldiers to kill innocent people indiscriminately. Xiaoyaozi, Gao Jianli, Mo Family leader Datiechui, and Xiangshi clan general Long Ju of Chu come to rescue him. Qin soldiers die one after another, and Bai Tu flees in a panic. Zhongli Mei releases the four on the condition that they take the innocent people with them and warns them not to appear in Dongjun. The four agree and leave with the people.

Ying Bu, a down-on-his-luck vagrant from Chu, and a little girl are resting in a forest. He angers Bai Tu because he does not approve of the Dongjun’s innocent people’s plight and why he does not respond to the summons of the Six Kingdoms. Bai Tu threatens Ying Bu with the little girl. As a result, Ying Bu kills Bai Tu’s horse, scaring Bai Tu. Ying Bu takes the opportunity to leave with the little girl.

In the Dongjun camp, the Net Trap master Jing Ni converses with Bai Tu dressed in Qin army uniform. Bai Tu wants to inquire about the use of the Stone of the Round Rock fragments, but Jing Ni refuses. Bai Tu wisely retreats. At this moment, Zhang Han, the leader of the Shadow Secret Guard, happens to arrive and enters the camp, realizing that someone has already been there. But Jing Ni has already disappeared. Bai Tu agrees with whatever Zhang Han says. After Zhongli Mei receives the task of escorting the Stone of the Round Rock, Bai Tu reveals a malicious smile.

The carriages escorting the Stone of the Round Rock advance on another road. Zhongli Mei wants to report the situation to Bai Tu, but Bai Tu is in the same carriage with Hua Ying, drinking wine together. Hua Ying takes the opportunity to talk to Bai Tu, but Bai Tu does not pay attention to what is happening outside. Bai Tu not only ignores Zhongli Mei’s reminders but also rebukes him for ruining his good time. Zhongli Mei can only leave dejectedly.

Due to the loss of the Stone of the Round Rock, Bai Tu is accused of incompetence and Zhang Han orders him to be executed the next day. However, he seizes the opportunity to open the cage and escape while the guards are unprepared. Zhang Han decides not to make a move, and sends the Shadow Secret Guard to track his movements. Zhang Han believes that Bai Tu is a discarded pawn to maintain his power behind the scenes, but this pawn still has some value to Zhang Han.

After the foolish and incompetent Qin general Bai Tu flees in a panic, he finds Jing Ni in a forest and begs him to save his life. Jing Ni seems to want to kill him to silence him, but at this time, Ganie and Weizhuang appear and fight with Jing Ni. Jing Ni kills a pursuing “Shadow Secret Guard,” preparing to shift the “Net Trap’s” attention from the “Net Trap” to Ganie and Weizhuang, and then escapes. Weizhuang goes to pursue Jing Ni, while Ganie stays behind to control the terrified Bai Tu. Bai Tu is then taken to see Zhongli Mei to tell him Jing Ni’s plan, but Bai Tu is unaware. During the interrogation, Bai Tu confesses that the person who gave him orders was Upper General Wang Li. Bai Tu did not dare to offend Wang Li and Jing Ni, so he had to take care of both sides.

Bai Tu is killed in Wang Li’s camp.
