Qi Jingchun is a significant character in Feng Huo Xi Zhu Hou’s novel Sword Coming. He is the fourth Sage of Confucianism, a direct disciple of the Holy Sage, and is renowned among scholars for possessing the potential to “establish a doctrine and become an ancestor.”

On his deathbed, he left a special gift for Chen Ping’an – a young man full of potential. In particular, the jade hairpin, a relic of his late teacher, was given to Chen Ping’an, carrying profound meaning:

“Chen Ping’an, no matter what happens in the future, you must not lose hope in this world.”

This act not only demonstrates his care for his young disciple but also confirms his philosophy of life: “A gentleman should withdraw when he should withdraw, and advance when he should advance.”
