Li Jing is a character from the costume novel “Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms” and its adaptations. He was the Second Prince of the Ghost Tribe (called the Wing Tribe in the drama). After his father, Qing Cang, was sealed into the Eastern Emperor Bell, he launched a palace coup and ascended the throne. His first love was Si Yin (Bai Qian disguised as a man), but because he didn’t know her true identity, Li Jing transferred his affections to Xuan Nu – a woman who possessed the same appearance as Si Yin. This betrayal led Si Yin to swear to never reconcile with him and Da Zi Ming Palace. One wrong decision, he lost true love and regretted it for the rest of his life.

Alias: Your Majesty, Second Highness

Actor: Zhang Binbin (TV series)

Character Appearance

Li Jing often appears in a carefree outfit, with his hair casually scattered, his eyes dazed, and a few petals on his shoulders. Even with a hint of sleepiness, his beauty is still amazing: “A young man suddenly appeared from the darkness, dressed casually, with messy hair, hazy eyes like smoke, and a few petals adorning his shoulders. His just-awakened appearance could not hide his stunning and unparalleled temperament.”

Li Jing’s Life

From Prince to Monarch

Li Jing was originally the Second Prince of the Ghost Tribe, living in the shadow of his older brother Li Yuan’s jealousy. After Qing Cang was sealed, he seized the throne and became the monarch. However, power did not bring him happiness.

Destined Fate with Si Yin

When he met Si Yin (Bai Qian disguised as a man), he was attracted by her pride and spirit. But this relationship quickly broke down when Xuan Nu – a woman who looked exactly like Si Yin – used a divisive tactic. Li Jing suspected that Si Yin had betrayed him and chose Xuan Nu as his wife. When he knew the truth, it was too late: Si Yin left, leaving behind a vow of “irreconcilable differences.”

Eternal Regret

Seventy thousand years later, Li Jing is still looking for Si Yin, regretting losing her. Even gifting the “Jade Soul” to save Bai Qian’s master (Mo Yuan Shang Shen), the pain has not lessened: “One moment of error, loss of love, regret for life.”

Classic Lines Related to Li Jing

“I woke up too late, and she… is no longer waiting for me.”

“Xuan Nu was right, the reason I didn’t give the Jade Soul that day was because I was jealous of her master. A Yin, I never stopped loving you.”

“A Yin, put the Jade Soul into Mo Yuan Shang Shen’s mouth, and you won’t have to use your heart’s blood every month in the future.”

“Seeing you like this makes me feel a little more at ease.”

“We… can’t go back to the past.”

Li Jing is the embodiment of the tragedy of “missed destiny.” He is powerful, but vulnerable to conspiracies; he is proud, but blind in love. Even as a monarch with power, his heart forever belongs to Si Yin – the woman who once trusted him and gave him her heart. Li Jing’s image, with his loose hair and melancholic eyes, has become the shadow of unrecoverable, broken love.

“Love someone, wait a lifetime. One moment astray, eternal regret.”
