Daoist Priest Danyang in a World of Bizarre Immortals | Character
Character - Updated on April 17, 2025
Danyangzi is a character from the novel “Taoist Priest of Bizarre Immortals” (道诡异仙) and related works by the author Fox Tail (狐尾). His real name is Yang Danzi (杨诞子). His appearance is very strange. From the back, he looks like a dignified Taoist with the air of an immortal, but from the front, he is a balding old man with a protruding mouth and a few sparse yellow teeth.
He was bullied from a young age, so he sought the art of immortality but went astray and ultimately became a heretical cultivator (邪修).
In essence, he is illiterate. He was deceived by the Zuowang Dao (坐忘道) and obtained a Celestial Tome (天书), but was then fooled by the fabricated stories of the Vase Girl (花瓶姑娘), leading him down the path of using living people to refine pills, a practice of heretical cultivation.
Danyangzi kidnapped people with congenital disabilities (生来就有残疾畸形的人), including Li Huowang, to use as “medicinal guides” (药引).
However, his actions ultimately led to Li Huowang’s rebellion, and he was killed by Li Huowang.
But due to Li Huowang’s Mind-Prime constitution (心素体质), he inadvertently helped Danyangzi achieve Immortality, briefly becoming Li Huowang’s “illusion” (but in reality, he did not die).
In a chaotic battle with Li Huowang and the Zuowang Dao, he “severed the Three Corpses” (斩三尸) and “achieved Immortality” (成仙), ultimately ascending to the White Jade Capital (白玉京), where he was completely killed by Siming (司命) – the Unborn Mother (无生老母).

After Achieving Immortality
His skin is covered in black feathers, dripping with blood. Where his head should be, it裂开 (split open), and three faces of different ages grew out.
At this time, in addition to his original organs, some completely non-human organs appeared on his bloated body.
A nightmare-like form, as black as pitch, purulent vertical pupils, inverted and filthy internal organs, and eerie tentacles intertwined. All of these chaotic things were wrapped in a floating, ethereal white silk of immortal qi (仙气) and suspended in the air. And these disgusting things were not static; they were constantly changing, turning into even more spine-chilling things.
