After birth, having experienced much emotional pain and being framed by Su Jin, Bai Qian (Su Su) jumped off the Zhuxian Terrace. From then on, Bai Chen lived with his father, Ye Hua, in the Nine Heavens. At the East Sea Dragon Lord’s full moon banquet, Bai Chen met Bai Qian in the garden and recognized her as his mother. This event helped Ye Hua realize that Bai Qian was the Su Su of that time.
In order to reunite with his mother, Bai Chen and his father moved to live in Qing Qiu’s Fox Den. During this time, he was kidnapped by Xuan Nu, disguised as Bai Qian, to Da Zi Ming Palace and used as a hostage, forcing Bai Qian to commit suicide. Afterwards, Ye Hua rushed to rescue Bai Chen and brought him back to the Nine Heavens. When Bai Qian came to the Heavenly Palace, Bai Chen often accompanied his mother and unintentionally helped repair the relationship between his parents. In the end, the family reunited and lived happily together.
Plot in “Three Lives Three Worlds, The Pillow Book”: When his aunt, Bai Feng Jiu, came to the Nine Heavens to attend a blind date, Bai Chen often played with her. When Bai Feng Jiu turned into a handkerchief to avoid Dong Hua Dijun, Bai Chen asked Zhe Yan for help, but was unsuccessful. Afterwards, when he learned that Bai Feng Jiu was trapped in the Fanyin Valley, Bai Chen went to visit her with Lian Song and brought the night-luminescent pearl – his New Year’s gift money – to help her sustain herself. He also played in Fanyin Valley for a few days.

“Father said that Mother doesn’t want to live with us because she’s afraid she won’t be used to the Heavenly Palace. It’s okay, Father and I will move to live with Mother. As long as there’s Mother, A-Li can be anywhere.”
“Mother belongs to Father, and only Father can touch her. No one else can touch her.”
