Brief Overview of the Abandoned Young Master - I Am Lao Wu | Summary

Summary - Updated on February 18, 2025

Ye Mo was reborn from the Luo Yue Continent to Earth. Unfortunately, his new body shared his name but suffered from impotence. Once a beloved young master, he was expelled from his family and became a notorious playboy.

On Earth, spiritual energy was scarce, making it incredibly difficult to cultivate, clear his meridians, and cure his ailment. As a master of creating talismans, he began selling them to survive. He started his cultivation journey from scratch, hoping to find his master.

The story is primarily divided into three parts:

  • Part 1: Ye Mo’s rebirth on Earth.
  • Part 2: Return to the Luo Yue Continent.
  • Part 3: Ascension to the Immortal Realm and the start of his peak cultivation journey.

Characters:

Ye Mo: He is a man of principle: always repaying debts (he never forgets a favor). He never lets those who offend him get away with it, but he adheres to his principles, ensuring that whoever caused the trouble takes responsibility. He isn’t one for excessive slaughter or eradicating entire families.

Ye Mo constantly feels that his strength is insufficient. After arriving on Earth, he’s always wary of his origins being exposed, which could bring him harm. Therefore, he tends to be aloof in his interactions with others.

Ning Qingxue, Li Mumei, Luo Ying… Ye Mo doesn’t know exactly what power he possesses, but whenever a girl sits beside him, they experience a sense of comfort or tranquility, as if Ye Mo is a calm lake that puts these beautiful women at ease. As a result, Ye Mo becomes involved with many women throughout the story.

Wu Ying: Formerly a Shadow Silkworm, a spiritual beast born from the Dragon Clan. This guy is incredibly shameless and loves to boast. However, he is undeniably domineering, and his power and abilities are unquestionable – a divine beast of the Dragon Clan. He is a glutton who can devour anything. His immortal saying is: “Offend me, and I’ll swallow you whole!”

Little Ice Ginseng: Also known as the Ice Ginseng King. It is the king of natural treasures, possessing vast knowledge but lacking combat abilities. However, it is incredibly fast, making it one of the best spiritual beasts and a valuable advisor to Ye Mo. Initially, it was gentle and believed everything it heard, but after spending time with Wu Ying, it picked up some bad habits from its senior.

Qiu Rang: Born from the Dragon Clan, but unlike Wu Ying, it is not a divine beast. This guy is an alcoholic who is perpetually drunk and drools at the sight of alcohol. His combat power is inferior to Wu Ying.

Realms in the Story:

During cultivation on Earth, there are two major combat systems:

  • Ancient Martial Arts: Yellow Level – Mysterious Level – Earth Level – Innate (the highest level of Innate is called Heaven Level).
  • Cultivation: Qi Refining is divided into nine levels.

In the Luo Yue Continent cultivation world:

  • Qi Refining – Foundation Establishment – Core Formation – Nascent Soul – Body Sculpting – Mahayana – Tribulation Transformation – Returning to Truth.

Ascension to the Immortal Realm:

  • Three Realms of Heavenly Immortals: False Immortal, Golden Immortal, Profound Immortal
  • Three Realms of Great Immortals: Great Yi Immortal, Great Zhi Immortal, Great Luo Immortal
  • Three Realms of Position Immortals: Immortal King (Crowned Immortal King), Immortal Venerable, Immortal Emperor.

Saint King (followed by Saint Position)

Becoming a Dao Proving Saint Emperor: Three Steps

  • First Step of Dao Proving: Shaping the Dao, Nurturing the Dao, Transforming the Dao.
  • Second Step of Dao Proving: Dao Source
  • Third Step of Dao Proving: Chaos

Alchemy:

  • Spiritual Alchemist – Pill King Alchemist – Immortal Alchemist… each level is divided into nine grades.

Formation Masters: Also divided into nine grades.

Feelings – Evaluation:

This is a highly acclaimed work by readers, portraying a clever, resourceful, and decisive protagonist. Ye Mo has almost no family, friends, or affiliation with any sect. He relies entirely on himself as he journeys from Earth to a small world, then to the Luo Yue Continent (a cultivation world), then ascends to the Immortal Realm, and eventually enters the God Realm… In each place, he is self-reliant and strives diligently.

The story’s flaw is the abundance of female characters, giving the impression that Ye Mo is constantly fighting for his loved ones, and each woman is madly in love with him. Overall, the male protagonist is quite devoted, giving his all to those he loves. However, he is also decisive towards betrayers, even if they are brothers or comrades who fought alongside him; betrayal is met with swift and ruthless action.

Ye Mo is a somewhat flamboyant protagonist. Initially on Earth, even before fully understanding the power of the ancient clans, he freely displays his strength. He is not the type to be gloomy, scheming, or taciturn. Readers who dislike this type of character should take note.

The author’s descriptions of the story’s settings are very detailed. Each time Ye Mo changes locations, the scenery of each world he arrives in is carefully crafted. The demonic beasts in the story are vividly portrayed, allowing readers to easily visualize them. The battle scenes are thrilling and thought-provoking.

The author’s writing pace is fast and strong. Sometimes the content is somewhat repetitive and predictable, but for readers who enjoy it, it is very engaging and never boring.

The ending is incomplete, and the author, I Am Old Five, plans to continue developing the plot in the novel “The Gate of Creation.”
